Q: What is a ZIP file, and how do I use it?
A: Think of a ZIP file as a digital package. Many files are "zipped" into a "package" to group them together, and/or compress them. The file can now be distributed easily and quickly across the web. This makes things easier because you just have to download one file instead of maybe 20 separate files required for the program to work.
To "unzip" a ZIP file, you'll need a program like WinZip. or WinRar. Both of these are shareware.
However, if you're using Windows XP or higher, the ability to unzip (and zip up) files is built into the system.
