Tired of plain looking e-mail? Microsoft's Outlook Express (free to anyone who downloads Internet Explorer) and Outlook (packaged with MS Office) have the ability to add images and colors into messages.
This tutorial is designed for Outlook Express 6. Check the About box on the Help menu to see which version you've got. If you've got 5.0, consider upgrading to the new version by going to the Microsoft web site and following their directions.
Select a new Stationary template by following these easy steps...
: Go to Tools on the menu.
: Select Options.
: Go to the Compose tab. You should see this screen...
Hit the Select button to choose your stationary from what you've got installed. That's all there is to it! The name of your selected stationary should appear. Hit OK to close that dialog and compose a new e-mail like you normally would. The stationary template you selected will appear in all your new messages.
The default location for stationary files in Outlook Express 6, is: c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\stationary\
That, in theory, is where you should probably install or save all your stationary files. Of course you can open them from any folder though.
If you'd like to create your own Stationary, then click the Create New button on the Compose tab (highlighted above). That will bring up the Outlook Express 6 Stationary Wizard, which will guide you through the steps of choosing an image and background colors.
